Taking care of your all-new hair is important for the procedure’s success. That’s why, after your transplant, we’ll make sure you’re fully equipped with all the necessary tools for a smooth recovery. You’ll get a head compression garment to prevent swelling, pain medication, and an aftercare kit for both the donor and transplant areas. As long as you follow the doctor’s instructions, you’ll be healed in no time.
The day after your transplant, you should come in for a check-up and your first hair wash. Be mindful not to bump or hurt the treated area during the first 11 days of recovery. We also suggest avoiding smoking, drugs, certain medications, and exposure to smoke and sunlight for a while. You can resume your normal daily activities after 2 days, but hold off on heavy exercise for 2 weeks and strenuous activities for up to 2 months.
We’ll check on your progress 11 days after your transplant, either in-person or online. Keep in mind that after 14 days, the transplanted hair may start to fall out, but don’t worry – this is completely normal. Over the next few months, the hair will start to grow back, with the full results taking anywhere from 12-15 months.
When it comes to haircuts, we recommend using scissors only and avoiding clippers for the first 2 months. After a year, you can safely use clippers on the transplanted hair. To keep your hair healthy, we also suggest avoiding hair products like gels, sprays, and dyes.
With proper care, you’ll be able to enjoy your new hair as soon as possible!
